Summer Half Term(2) 2008

Posted in

This half term at BRAG we are looking at stories from the book of Judges.

The Israelites had finally reached the land God had promised them, but it wasn't turning out to be rest they were expecting.

They had not done as God had asked, which was to drive out the people who lived there, and so God was no longer helping them in battle. The people of Israel often forgot the great things God had done for them and followed the religions the people who lived around them. God never forgot His people though, and when they got into trouble He would choose a Judge (a mighty hero) to be their leader and save them. God did this so that the people of Israel would have another chance to follow Him like they should have all along.

As we'll find out, the people that God called as judges weren't often the kind of people you or I would have picked for a hero...
