GAP

Posted in

GAP is the church youth group covering the age range between BRAG and Straight Up. Anyone in school years 7-9 is welcome to come along on a Monday night and join us (we meet at 7:00pm, term times). Together we look at what the Bible has to say to us today, with discussion and question asking actively encouraged. There's also plenty of time in the evening to chat, relax and play some games.

The Essentials

When do we meet? Monday evenings in term time, and occasional Friday nights
What time? 7-8:30pm, unless advised otherwise
Where? Longmeadow Evangelical Church, unless otherwise advised
What ages? School years 7-9
How much does it cost? GAP is free, apart from outings as advised

What do we do at GAP?

We usually start with some games as people arrive, followed by the organised activity as outlined in the programme. There will also be a short, interactive talk based on the Bible where we encourage the children to join in and ask questions. This part of the evening lasts about 20 minutes. Activities are usually based around games, craft and if we are feeling brave, food! The latter part of the evening is more chilled out - a time to relax, shoot some pool or play table tennis.

Why do we run GAP?

GAP runs as part of the youth work of the church to inform and teach the stories and lessons within the Bible, and what they mean to us today. We also want the children to enjoy their time at GAP in a safe environment. All leaders are members of Longmeadow Evengelical Church and have been CRB checked.

Programme

From January 2009, at the start of each term, a programme will be issued so that you can see what we have planned for the coming weeks. As well as outlining all our activities, details of outings and their related costs are also listed. The Bible time themes that we will cover will also be included.

Behaviour

All children will be expected to follow some general rules on behaviour which will be outlined to them when they begin to attend.

Questions or queries

Please do not hesitate to speak to a leader about any aspect of GAP. We also welcome parents or guardians to attend any meeting if they so wish, just turn up on the night.
